What recall sources does RecallSentry cover?
RecallSentry aggregates recalls from four major U.S. agencies: FDA (food, drugs, medical devices, cosmetics), USDA (meat, poultry, eggs), CPSC (consumer products, electronics, toys), and NHTSA (vehicles, tires, child seats). All subscription tiers have access to all agencies.
How often is recall data updated?
Our system checks for new recalls multiple times daily. Most recalls appear in the app within hours of being announced by the issuing agency.
What's the difference between subscription tiers?
Free: Access to all agency recalls, save up to 5 recalls, 3 basic filters.

SmartFiltering ($1.99/mo): Enhanced filtering with up to 10 brand, product, and state filters, save up to 50 recalls, Level 2 recall details with recommendations.

RecallMatch ($4.99/mo): Everything in SmartFiltering, plus household inventory tracking (75 items), automated recall matching via SmartScan, Recall Management Center with refund/repair/replacement support.
How do I enable push notifications?
When you first launch RecallSentry, you'll be prompted to allow notifications. If you declined:

iOS: Settings → RecallSentry → Notifications → Allow Notifications
Android: Settings → Apps → RecallSentry → Notifications → Enable
Can I use RecallSentry without creating an account?
Yes! You can browse recalls as a guest user with Free tier access. However, to save recalls, create SmartFilters, or subscribe to premium features, you'll need to create an account.
Is my data secure?
Yes. We use industry-standard TLS/SSL encryption for all data transmission, encrypted storage for sensitive data, and passwords are hashed — never stored in plaintext. Your personal information is never sold to third parties.

Managing Your Subscription

Subscriptions are managed through your device's app store, not within the RecallSentry app.

🔄 Restore Purchases

  1. 1Open RecallSentry
  2. 2Go to the Subscribe page

  4. 4Sign in with the same Apple ID or Google account used for the original purchase

💳 Refund Requests

Refunds are handled by Apple or Google, not by RecallSentry directly.

Troubleshooting

⚠️ App Won't Load / Shows Error

  1. Check your internet connection
  2. Force close the app and reopen it
  3. Restart your device
  4. Update to the latest app version
  5. If the issue persists, uninstall and reinstall the app

🔔 Not Receiving Push Notifications

  1. Verify notifications are enabled in device settings
  2. Check that Do Not Disturb is not enabled
  3. Ensure you have an active internet connection
  4. Try logging out and back in
  5. On Android, check battery optimization settings

🔑 Can't Sign In with Apple/Google

  1. Make sure you're using the same account you originally signed up with
  2. Check that Sign in with Apple/Google is enabled in device settings
  3. Try signing out of your Apple/Google account and back in
  4. Update your device to the latest OS version

📋 Subscription Not Showing as Active

  1. Go to the Subscribe page and tap "Restore Purchases"
  2. Verify your subscription is active in your device's app store
  3. Make sure you're logged in with the same account used for purchase
  4. Wait a few minutes and try again (purchases can take time to sync)
  5. If still not working, contact us with your purchase receipt
